What happens if my unit does not power up?

Check that your electricity supply to OpenView is working.  Make sure your OpenView SD is correctly fitted.  When all else fails contact the person who supplied you who will do their best to help you.

Why is something not working?

Sometimes things just get broken! Have a look at the Status page.

Can I watch HD TV content?

Yes.  Have a look at this example.

What should I do with a screen like this?

The system cannot read the software from the SD card.  This could have been caused by incorrectly powering down the system or removing the SD card whilst power is supplied.  We recommend the following to remove/replace an SD card. Contact the person who supplied you for more help on this matter.

Why is it slow?

When OpenView is working you will see a "working" message at the bottom right of your TV screen.  It takes time to find what you have selected and then once you have found it and selected the video from a server it takes time to establish the video stream.  However, once the video starts things should run smoothly.

Why does it keep buffering?

It is normal for 1080 HD content to require some initial buffering before playing but it is not normal to get buffering once the video is playing.  If you do experience buffering once the video has started then stop the stream and look for another stream on a different server.  If the buffering problem persists then there may be a problem with your home network or your internet service provider.  We recommend at least a 20Mbps internet connection for 3D and 1080p.  You can check if there is a network problem (rather than a server problem) by trying an internet bandwidth test on another machine.

Why is the video poor quality?

The poor video quality is often due to the recorded content and you cannot do anything about that.  This is often experienced on new film releases where someone has been sitting in a cinema and recording the movie onto a movie camera.

Why does my 1080p HD video stutter?

Perhaps because the source audio has been encoded as 5.1, click here.
