Preventing unwanted content
A tool is being developed to prevent Pop Ups, SPAM and adverts being received into your viewing experience. It will take a couple of weeks to complete our testing before updating your systems.
If anyone sees unwanted content , please report it to us. Just let us know what you were doing when the unwanted content was received i.e. perhaps a particular add-on being used.
Your safety, privacy and security will be maintained.

Mash Up unavailable
When you power up and select Mash Up you will see the above message from Mash Up. After you click "OK" a YouTube video will play from Mash Up. We would ask you to ignore this video at this stage and do not attempt any Mash Up installation.
Mash Up has decided to start a new project based on an advert delivery system. We are not convinced that our customers want advertisements within their viewing experience. The adverts will require Google Analytics and an open portal to all machines. We do not feel confident at this stage that your safety, privacy and security will be maintained.
You may see a pop-up like this after you try to launch Mash Up, please just click OK and ignore. As always, we will keep you informed. At this stage we do not know if we will be able to continue to recommend Mash Up.
ADDENDUM
If you have not powered the system for some time you may see something like this:
Do not carry out any uninstalls. Let things settle down over the next week and follow our advice.

Patching root filesystem
When you power up you may see a message saying "Patching root filesystem". The message sits there on your TV screen for quite a while, do not power down OpenView, be patient and wait. After several minutes OpenView will be up and running.
Blue screens mean major software is being updated or fixed, this normally takes place toward the end of each month.

Watch "The Family" now
Check out CAM source for "The Family". A good source at the BillionUploads server Mash Up - New releases; watchable quality. Starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The plot: The Manzoni family, a notorious mafia clan, is relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program, where fitting in soon becomes challenging as their old habits die hard.

Enjoy watching a whole series
Watch what you want and when you want!
The "Built in Plugins" under your Home screen Mash Up portal is a good source to watch a whole series. There are two key Plugins to try out, Watchseries.it and iWatchOnline.
You are presented with a menu similar to this on Watchseries.it
Interesting to see the Popular Shows
For example, selecting Breaking Bad shows all the 5 Seasons
And view the latest episodes (the ticks show what you have watched already)

Video acronyms explained
We often get asked, "what does CAM, TS, DVD mean in the brackets next to to the source?" Basically these acronyms define the quality of the video source.
Please note we do not condone piracy.
1. BLURAY (also referred to as BD, BDRIP, or Blu-ray)
These high definition optical discs obviously make for the best possible video source. They are sometimes know as 1080p source and require about 10Mbps of bandwidth to watch.
2. DVDRip
Video source taken from an original retail DVD, with no notices displayed during playback. It is common for DVD screeners to be mislabelled as DVD rips.
3. DVD-SCREENER (also referred to as DVDscr or Screener)
Screeners are sent out by movie studios to retailers, film critics, and other places for promotional use or award consideration. They are of the highest video quality, but usually letterbox format. You’ll see an anti-piracy ticker scroll across the screen every so often.
4. TC (or TELECINE; sometimes called R5)
High quality releases are made possible by digitally copying the film reel from the movie theatre, not very common due to the expensive equipment involved.
5. TS (or TELESYNC)
Pretty much a good quality CAM release, except an external audio source (such as the theatre’s hearing impared jack) is used. They are sometimes filmed in an empty cinema or from the projection booth, with a tripod for steady image. Quality can vary from exceptionally high to very poor. Worth trying out if you’re really excited about watching something new.
6. CAM
This type of release is the lowest quality and most people don’t even bother watching them. It is filmed from within the cinema with a portable digital camcorder. It is common to hear people laughing in the background or see someone’s body walk across the screen.

New MashSports live sport streams
A new set of sport streams are the new kids on the block. As one set of sport streams are displaced another set of sport streams take up residence. Its a bit like a turf war out there!
Navigate to Mash Up : Live Streams and select MashSports
Live sport streams are highly unreliable and are often low quality video streams.
But perhaps it is better than nothing!

Send any YouTube video to your TV
Send any YouTube video to your TV, instantly using OpenView (if using Yatse or iPhone app as a remote control).
Here’s the scenario. You’re sitting on your couch, browsing the web with your android tablet/phone or iPhone/iPad. You stumble upon a hilarious video and – being a social creature – you want to share it with the people around you. The usual solution is to tell everyone in the room to crowd around your tablet or smartphone. It’s a great way to get close to people, but it can become a little tiresome, which is why we propose a smarter solution using your OpenView.
As you watch your YouTube video on your tablet or smartphone, simply select Share. On an android device this is typically selected toward the right of the URL (far right); a drop down menu appears with things like "New tab". Just select Share and then select Send to Xbmc, wait and then your YouTube video will appear on your TV.

Two cracking weekend movies
Now out in odeons or just kick back and watch it through OpenView in the comfort of your own home with oriental subtitles that you will not notice once you get into the movie!
So what is the story? A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
And another great cracker:
An FBI agent and an Interpol detective track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.
Enjoy.

August Software Update
Another month and another software update! July software update was rock solid.
To get the update, simply reboot. Note that if you have disabled updates via Raspbmc Settings, you’ll need to enable them first. You might not be updated immediately because the server gets over loaded at this time and only updates when it has enough power! If you do not get updated then leave it a few days and simply reboot again.
Sit back, relax and be patient whilst the system updates.

primewire.ag redirects to vodly.to
What is happening to 1channel these days? On Wednesday 14th August 2013 we were told by 1channel twitter (LMWT/Primewire @real_1channel) to use letmewatchthis.ch to access the site.
@real_1channel tweeted on Friday 16th August 2013, "We are back on primewire.ag, sorry for the confusion". But for some the primewire.ag URL redirected them to primewire.sx for a short while or vodly.to (a nasty site where you will get loaded with lots of malicious stuff - yuk).
The letmewatchthis.ch is also redirecting to vodly.to (yuk) site. This vodly.to claims they are the legitimate site but they are not.
So where are we now? Some are claiming they are getting to the primewire.ag site just fine whilst others are being redirected to vodly.to (yuk). There are those who are saying it is just a DNS catch up issue and everything will be sorted out within a few hours.
We are using Virgin media ISP in the UK and can report that at 7:30am on 17th August 2013 primewire.ag is being redirected to vodly.to - are you able to access primewire.ag? (I have a gut feeling we may get some misinformation from those at vodly.to ha ha)
UPDATE 10:30 am Saturday 17th August 2013 - Hooray - primewire.ag is no longer being redirected for us.

OpenView TVs provide safe viewing
Right now, many people using web browsers from their PCs, tablet or phones are being hit with nasty viruses when they access the 1Channel website.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20130814203215AAtE2Wv
This was a comment posted yesterday on OpenView Helper that captures what is happening to people using traditional PC/Browser technology for home movie and TV viewing
"Vodly.to prompted me to install an add on in order for the advanced
search to work. I was dumb enough to accommodate them and my computer
immediately slowed down terribly. I ran a check with malwarebytes and
was infected with 98 quarantined threats.Has vodly.to hijacked
primewire.ag ?"
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20130814152513AANx3DS
OpenView powered TVs are immune to such nasty viruses, OpenView will never be re-directed to a hijacked site.
When OpenView receives "porn windows" or "malware" or "advertising pop-ups" they get put in a bucket and thrown away! They never get stored to the OpenView SD card, never displayed on the TV and never sent across your home network to infect any of your other devices.
OpenView powered TVs provide a safe viewing experience.
